RPS Technology Upgrade News

PHOTO © Theresa Sicurezza 2008Hello, and welcome to RPS. We have some exciting announcements about our newest technology upgrades.
First, our website continues to evolve as we are working to make it an even more useful resource for everything that might interest our Members. We will be adding more about courses, workshops, seminars, field trips, and shows in our area, with links to additional information about each one. Many thanks to our diligent webmaster Andre Bielski for our continuous improvements.
Second, we have upgraded our digital projector to a Canon SX60, with SXGA resolution (1400 x 1050 pixels). The image quality is amazing. We have also purchased an Xrite Eye One Beamer projector calibration system to ensure accurate colors for all meetings, presentations, and Photo Reviews.
Third, as those of you who were at our first meeting in January saw, we have a new sound system for our meetings and the Fall Seminar.
Finally, just in time for our next round of classes, we have made multiple upgrades to the Computer Lab. As you can see in the photograph, we have bought all new Dell LCD monitors, which are all color calibrated, of course. We have also added another 1GB of RAM to each of our fairly new Dell computers. All this will make our upgrades to Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop Elements 6.0 run and look even better. Many thanks to Stan Clay, our Director of Education, for ordering, installing, configuring, and calibrating all the new hardware and software.
We will be adding several computer classes very soon, so please keep checking our website for the updates. Stop by our home at Roswell Visual Arts Center (RVAC) for our meetings or classes, and check out all our changes for yourself.
Hope to see you soon.
Tom Vadnais, 2008 RPS President
