Top Banners for the RPS Web Site

We invite RPS members to submit images for the top banner of our web site. The site randomly chooses one image from the collection when every page is visited.

What You Give

A perpetual license to use the image on the RPS site and in connection with RPS activities as deemed necessary by the board. You retain the copyright and ownership of the image.

What You Get

Glory, fame, professional recognition, the undying gratitude of your society peers, the love of your family and friends, continued indifference from your family pet, and credit via a popup message when the mouse hovers over the banner.

How to Submit Your Image

Email your digital image submissions (see specifications below) to president@roswellphotosociety.org. Please put "RPS Banner Photo" in the subject line.

How Will We Choose

Images will be considered for inclusion based on the artistic considerations and technical requirements of the site explained below.

Artistic Considerations

The image must work well with the logo. Because the logotype uses black letters, you should process the area of the banner that will be behind the logo (or just the logotype) so that the type is still readable. The space around the logo is transparent; the image behind shows through.

We may use space in the banner for special messages or notices in the future. That suggests an image that offers usable space between the logo and the right edge, but this is a minor consideration.

Technical Specifications

• Width - 900 pixels.
• Height - 115 pixels.
• Format - JPEG. We are interested in good quality for the banner consistent with efficient download times.

Your submission may be a JPEG or PNG-24 file or a Photoshop file. If submitting JPEG, please submit at maximum quality. If submitting a Photoshop file, please be sure the aspect ratio of your image is 900:115.

Do not merge the logo with your submitted image. However, please do edit the image to accomodate the logo.
