RPS April 21st Photo Review - Judge: Jay Kaufman - Theme: Open

Mr. Kaufman has been a professional photographer for nearly 40 years and has worked in the field as a photojournalist for United Press International in Europe during the 1960's, returning back to the States in the 70's. He has covered such momentous events as the funeral of Martin Luther King in April of 1968, the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia in August of 1968, the kidnapping of Reg Murphy (Editor of the AJC), Hank Aaron’s historic 714 & 715 homeruns also in 1974. In his mid career, he moved into editorial and advertising/public relations photography, and then took a sharp turn for a 15 year hiatus to pursue his other passion cooking as a professional chef. Only after his introduction to Photoshop six years ago did he return with great enthusiasm to photography. Kaufman believed that the new viewpoint he derived from mingling pure photography, expressed originally with a film camera and chemical transformation could now, fused with digital electronics; deserve a new point of reference in the lexicon of artistic movements...Photographic Idealism. Jay now works with and sells his images to Interior Designers, retail décor galleries, and art licensing. A large body of his work is being showcased at The Fickle Pickle. To view Jay's award winning images, go to www.onthewallstudio.com.
