Mim Eisenberg

On A Roll

Member Mim Eisenberg has won several awards for her photography, including Best Floral Photographer (by member votes) on Flickr in 2005. In 2006, she won 1st place in the Atlanta Audubon Society's photo contest for "Magenta". She received a 3rd place for "Three Crocuses" in 2006 and a 3rd place for "Mauve Tulip" in 2007 from the Atlanta Audubon Society. Most recently, her image "Dipping Deep" won 2nd place in the Chattahoochee Nature Center's Butterflies, Dragonflies, and Pollinators photo contest. Last year, her image "It Was This Wide" won 1st Honorable Mention in the same contest.

Michael, Natalie and Mitch Birnbaum

Sandy Springs Library

Michael and Natalie Birnbaum and their son Mitch, all RPS members, are exhibiting 19 of their images at the Sandy Springs Library on Mt. Vernon Road. The images include flowers, birds, and insects. The exhibit is ongoing from July through August, and the library is open every day. The exhibit is on the right wall of the corridor leading to the adult book section. Jim Markle

Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3)

Jim Markle was awarded Third Prize in the Fine Art Category of the 2007 Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) for his image "International Flare". His image will be exhibited in Paris at the prestigious 13 Sevigne Gallery in June and July 2007, and will be published in the high-quality PX3 Annual Book, which is distributed worldwide to galleries, agencies, publishers, and bookstores.

Jim Markle

Juried In

Member Jim Markle has had an image juried into the exhibit "The Art of Digital Imagery" at The Center for Fine Arts in Ft. Collins, CO. The exhibit runs from June 15 through July 14, 2007, in conjunction with the City's 2007 Arts Festival. His image was one of only 50 selected for the exhibit.

Maisie Partridge

Club Member Maisie Partridge has had not one, but two images published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution weather page. "Black Storm Clouds" was shot from the top deck of her house, and was published on Friday, June 1, 2007. "Golden Sunset" was made at Jekyll Island last spring, and was published Tuesday, June 5, 2007. Congratulations Maisie.

2007 City of Roswell CABY Award

Congratulations to RPS Member and Past President Gittel Price for receiving the prestigious 2007 City of Roswell CABY Award for Distinguished Visual Artist. This well-deserved award is a testament to Gittel's legendary tireless work on behalf of the photographic arts in general, and of the Club, specifically.

Tom Wilson

BetterPhoto.com

Photographer Tom Wilson of Woodstock, GA, has won First Place for January in the prestigious photography contest sponsored by BetterPhoto.com, the site's founder, Jim Miotke, announced Tuesday.

More than 25100 entries were submitted to the online photography contest, which attracted contestants from around the world and featured 10 separate categories.

Wilson's stunning image, "Blessed Assurance", garnered top honors after being submitted in the Travel & Place category.
