Tom Query
Breaks New Ground
In an exhibit formerly dominated by pottery, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and other art forms, Tom Query broke new ground by getting Second Place in Georgia Artists: A Juried Exhibit, on exhibit from April 11-25, 2008 at the Abernathy Arts Center in Sandy Springs, GA. His winning image was Waiting for the Moment: Lima, Peru.

1st Place Atlanta Audubon Society
Member Tom Wilson is still flying high! This time, he’s soared over all his competition and garnered First Place in the Birds category of the Atlanta Audubon Society’s photo contest. It was the contest’s most competitive category with more than 300 entries!

Maisie Partridge
1st Place
Maisie Partridge, a long-time RPS member, recently won first place in a photography competition offered by Elderhostel, a non-profit educational travel organization. This is a new quarterly competition, and under the subject 'Landmarks of Discovery' Maisie was the first winner with her photograph of Eilean Donan Castle in Western Scotland.

Phoenix and Dragon Bookstore Show
Mim Eisenberg is having a solo photography show at Phoenix and Dragon Bookstore, 5531 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30342. The show runs from April 4 through April 30, 2008. Opening reception is Friday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. Her show is called Drawn In: a macro photography celebration of flora and fauna.

RPS Well-represented in Southeastern Flower Show
RPS was well-represented at the Southeastern Flower Show, and Members came away with many of the awards. Of the six categories in the Show, Tom Query won two First Places and Roy Gordon won another First Place. Theresa Sicurezza was also a double award winner, garnering a Second and a Third. Other winning Members were Tom Vadnais (Second), Jerome Roberts (Third), and T.R. Reece, Al Levine, Kate Lynch, Phyllis Hlavac, and Sara Lindkrantz (all Honorable Mentions). And although very few images sold at the Show, Members Theresa Sicurezza and Roy Gordon each sold one. It was a good Show and a well-attended evening.

Tom Wilson
Nature Conservancy of Georgia's 2007 Annual Report

Tom Wilson has gotten two images selected for both the front and back cover of the Nature Conservancy of Georgia's 2007 Annual Report. His "Fall Vista from Brasstown Bald" was used for the front cover, and his Solo Rower on the Chattahoochee" graced the back cover. This Annual Report was sent to all Nature Conservancy members, and will be published on their website.
